Last updated 1 year ago

Countries: South Sudan

Intervention Description

IntelliSOFT developed South Sudan EMR which assist in coordination and management of patients healthcare needs. They enable the providers to track patients as they move through continuum of care. IntelliSOFT developed the system to enhance HIV client management, viral load tracking and appointment management. Improved use of data supported by an electronic data system to track patients on ART through the continuum of care.

Factors to Scale

Implementation Considerations

SSEMR has the capability to sync patient data between Juba and Nimule health facilities.

This ensures that there is readily available patient data for clinicians and continuum of care for patients who are transferred between either of the facilities.

Potential pitfalls:

Limited functionality of the Bahmni connect feature.

Hard to track stock inventory using Bahmni connect.

CHWs have to manually flag missed appointments offered outside the facility as ‘Completed’ when they return to the facility.

Bahmni Connect (the offline feature) does not print reports thus requiring the CHWs to get the reports beforehand from the facility.

Poor infrastructure (internet, electricity).

Governance Considerations
