From the DUC meetings thus far, presenters shared their experiences with planning and implementing fingerprint biometrics. Common themes included reviewing and building off of existing infrastructure, engaging various stakeholders, creating reference materials such as SOPs or trainings, planning for connectivity, and the non-biometric components collected in their biometric systems.13,14,15,16 DUC presenters who were working to establish patient identity management systems have noted that they are considering the implementation of biometric systems, however costs are a concern.14,19
